NEW FEATURE

Create a Prompt with AI Prompt Builder

Use the built-in AI assistant in the MPM editor to create professional Midjourney prompts through natural conversation. Just describe your vision and let AI configure all the settings for you!

Overview

The AI Prompt Builder is a built-in AI assistant that lives right inside the MPM editor. Instead of manually clicking through dozens of style options, simply describe your vision in a chat conversation and the AI will configure all the settings for you - directly in the editor!

Benefits

  • 10x Faster: Create complex prompts in seconds instead of minutes
  • Built-in AI: Powered by Claude Sonnet, directly in the MPM editor
  • Conversational: Describe your vision naturally, see settings update live
  • Seamless: All settings applied directly in the editor - no copy/paste needed

How It Works

1

Open the Editor

Go to the prompt editor to create a new prompt. You'll see the "Build with AI" panel on the right side of the editor.

Tip: You can also access the AI builder from any existing prompt by clicking on the "Build with AI" tab in the editor.
2

Describe Your Vision

Type a description of the image you want to create in the chat box. Be as detailed or as simple as you like—the AI will ask follow-up questions if needed.

Example:

"I want to create a futuristic cyberpunk cityscape at night with neon lights and rain-slicked streets"

3

Chat with AI

The AI assistant (powered by Claude Sonnet) will have a conversation with you about your vision—asking about aspect ratio, mood, lighting, colors, and style preferences.

Example conversation:

AI: "What aspect ratio would you like for this cyberpunk scene?"
You: "16:9 for a cinematic feel"
AI: "Great choice! And what mood - dark and atmospheric with high contrast?"
You: "Yes, with lots of neon reflections"

4

Watch Settings Update

As you chat, watch the editor update in real-time! The AI applies settings directly to the prompt builder—you'll see the base prompt, style selections, parameters, and more all update automatically.

No copy/paste needed! Settings are applied directly to the editor - just continue the conversation until your prompt is perfect.

5

Refine & Fine-Tune

Your prompt is fully editable! After the AI configures the initial settings, you can manually adjust anything using the visual editor. Change styles, tweak parameters, or add reference images.

6

Save & Copy

Click "Save" to save your prompt to your project. Then click "Copy" to copy the finalized prompt to your clipboard, ready to paste into Midjourney!

Web (Recommended):

  1. 1. Click "COPY" in MPM
  2. 2. Visit midjourney.com and paste into the Create page
  3. 3. Click submit and watch your vision come to life!

Discord (Optional):

Add Reference Images

Combine AI prompts with reference images

After the AI builds your prompt, use the editor's Image Library to add style references, image prompts, and character references to further guide Midjourney's output.

Reference Types

  • Image Prompts (--iw): Use images as creative starting points
  • Style References (--sref): Match visual styles from reference images
  • Character References (--cref): Maintain character consistency
  • Omni References (--oref): Reference anything in v7

How to Add References

  • 1. Open the Image Library panel in the editor
  • 2. Upload or select images from your library
  • 3. Check the boxes to assign as style/character/image refs
  • 4. Adjust weights as needed

Learn more about references

See our Reference Image System guide for detailed instructions on using all reference types effectively.

  • ✗ Forget to save your prompt after the AI configures it
  • ✗ Ignore the AI's suggestions - they're tailored to Midjourney
  • ✗ Skip reviewing the final settings before copying

Troubleshooting

AI Not Responding

Problem: The AI assistant isn't responding to messages

Solution: Check your internet connection and try refreshing the page. The AI service may be temporarily busy - wait a moment and try again.

Settings Not Updating

Problem: Chatting with AI but editor settings aren't changing

Solution: Make sure you're on the "Build with AI" tab in the editor. The AI needs to reach a point in the conversation where it generates a configuration. Keep chatting to answer its questions about your vision.

Save Button Disabled

Problem: Can't save my prompt after using AI builder

Solution: Make sure you have: (1) A base prompt text entered, (2) A valid prompt name, and (3) Selected a project to save to.

Want to Start Over?

Question: How do I reset and start a new conversation?

Answer: Click the "Clear Chat" button in the Build with AI panel to start a fresh conversation. Your current editor settings will be preserved - only the chat history is cleared.
